Poland's Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) has launched a probe into Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework, citing potential antitrust violations. The investigation centers on whether Apple's privacy features unfairly disadvantage third-party advertisers while bolstering its own advertising business.

UOKiK President Tomasz Chrostny alleges the iOS 14.5 privacy update may mislead users about actual privacy protections while cementing Apple's market dominance. The company faces potential fines up to 10% of its Polish revenue if found guilty of abusing its market position.

Apple maintains its ATT system empowers users to control data tracking. "The tracking industry continues fighting to maintain unfettered access to user data," the company stated, framing the investigation as retaliation for consumer privacy advancements.
